The Journey of Goodness: From Local Kindness to Global Impact
What began in Ankara as a group of friends distributing aid to those in need using their own resources evolved into a growing journey of voluntary humanitarian work. This journey gained significant momentum during the global pandemic in 2020. At a time when many were struggling to meet their basic needs, these pioneers of kindness took action on the ground to make a difference.
In 2021, the initiative took a formal step and was given a name that reflects its essence: “İyilik” – which means “Goodness.” Rooted in sincere efforts, the movement has focused on reaching those in need across various districts of Ankara. Hundreds of families have been reached, their hardships shared, and hope rekindled.
The year 2023 marked a new chapter for this movement. In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake on February 6 – known as the "disaster of the century" – our organization mobilized day and night under its roof. Alongside coordinating the shipment of numerous truckloads of relief supplies, we were present in the affected regions, distributing hot meals and sharing in the sorrow, bringing with us a glimmer of hope.
2023 also witnessed the international expansion of this movement. With a solid foundation of knowledge, experience, and sincerity, our association extended its efforts to Africa. The first step was taken in Kenya with a Qurban (sacrifice) distribution, bringing abundance to countless homes. In 2024, after organizing another Qurban project in Tanzania, we expanded our reach to Niger by signing a protocol with a reputable and trustworthy Turkish-affiliated local NGO.
We have successfully carried out projects such as Qurban distributions, water well constructions, Qur’an distributions, and community meal programs under the banner of goodness – and we continue to do so with determination.

As İyilikteyiz Humanitarian Aid Association, we center our institutional values in all we do. We develop basic aid programs and targeted projects to address individuals’ multidimensional needs and enhance their well-being.
